IN SUPPORT OF AGRICULTURE IN THE COUNTY
Today, Nyeri governor flagged off a fleet of motorcycles for agricultural extension officers to strengthen the capacity of service delivery in the county.
This will ensure the mobility of extension officers to boost agricultural productivity. The farmers will benefit from improved access to knowledge on modern farming techniques for crops, fisheries, and livestock sector.

The eight Suzuki motorbikes add to the fleet of 16 others in the veterinary directorate and six others fisheries directorate.
The extension officers will also be able to monitor the work of 210 agripreneurs extension officers who will soon be hired to boost extension services.
The governor also recognized and appreciated the good work done by the 87 extension officers stationed around the eight sub-counties. He also wish to purchase more motorbikes to improve services in the future.
Agricultural extension officers play a crucial role in the development and sustainability of agriculture in any country. Here are some key points highlighting their importance:

His administration is committed to bolstering agricultural outreach, ensuring that our officers can traverse remote regions effortlessly and enhance agricultural productivity for services to every farmer they reach in every village.
He was accompanied by Nyeri Deputy Governor H.E Kinaniri Waroe, CECM in charge of Agriculture, Livestock, and Aquaculture.
Others present were County Secretary Ben Gachichio, County Attorney Kimani Rucuiya, Chief Officer Governor’s Office Dr. Lucy Ndumba, Trade Chief Officer George Mwangi, and Wambugu ATC Farm Principal David Kariuki, among others.
