County government of Taita taveta train 30 agripreneur on Business accelerator model

The County Government of Taita Taveta has equipped 30 trainers with skills on the Agripreneur Business Accelerator Model. The officers, will cascade the knowledge to agripreneurs at the sub-county level.

The County, has also recruited 140 agripreneurs, with seven representatives selected per ward across the county’s 20 wards.

Speaking during the workshop, the County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Agriculture Katuu Mzenge, highlighted the transformative potential of the model, which aims to commercialize agriculture and enhance service delivery to farmers.

“This model is designed to encourage youth to embrace agribusiness, boost productivity, and empower farmers to achieve economic sustainability. By shifting from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture, we aim to improve financial prosperity for our farmers,” he stated.

Navcdp County Project Coordinator Andrew Mbinga lauded the program, noting:

“This model is a game-changer. It bridges the gap between the department and our farmers, ensuring extension services reach grassroots levels to enhance production.”
